Printing and Framing

PRINTING YOUR DIGITAL ARTWORK

Your artwork is supplied as a high-quality PDF and is designed to be easy to print at home or through a professional print service.

PRINTING AT HOME

1. Download your PDF
Save the original PDF to your computer or device.
For the best quality, don't take a screenshot or copy and paste the artwork.

2. Choose good-quality paper

For the best results, we recommend:

• Matte art/photo paper – 200–300 gsm for a beautiful art-print finish
• Premium matte paper – 160–200 gsm for a slightly lighter option
• Gloss or semi-gloss photo paper if you prefer a brighter, more photographic finish

Always check that your printer can handle the paper thickness you choose.

3. Open the PDF and select Print

Choose:

• Paper size: A3
• Orientation: Portrait
• Print quality: Best / High quality
• Paper type: Select the paper you are using
• Scaling: 100% / Actual Size

Important: Avoid selecting “Fit to Page” unless you specifically want the artwork reduced to fit a different paper size.

4. Do a test print

Before printing on your expensive art paper, do a quick test on ordinary paper.

Check that the size, position and colours look right.

5. Print your final copy

Once you're happy with the test, print onto your chosen quality paper and allow the ink to dry fully before handling or framing.

WANT A DIFFERENT SIZE?

If you don't have an A3 printer, that's absolutely fine.

You can print the PDF at a smaller size such as A4.

When printing, choose:

Paper size → A4
Scaling → Fit / Scale to paper

Your printer will reduce the artwork proportionally.

For larger sizes, we recommend using a professional printing service rather than trying to enlarge the file yourself.

FOR THE BEST POSSIBLE RESULT

For the most professional finish, take the original PDF to a professional print shop and ask for:

• Full-colour printing
• Matte fine-art or premium art paper
• A3 or A4 size
• High-quality/resolution printing
• No additional cropping

A professional printer can also advise you on the best paper for your particular printer or artwork.

PLEASE NOTE

Colours can vary slightly between different monitors, printers and types of paper. For this reason, the final printed colour may not look exactly the same as it appears on screen.

FRAMING PRINTS

A4 is 21 × 29.7 cm, and A3 is 29.7 × 42 cm, both internationally standard ISO sizes.

For example, major general retailers such as IKEA stock frames designed around these sizes, although they often label the frame using slightly different dimensions. IKEA's current guide specifically shows 30 × 40 cm frames accommodating A4 artwork and 40 × 50 cm frames accommodating A3 artwork with a mount.

We therefore recommend:

A4 = easiest to print AND frame at home.
A3 = lovely larger option, but you may need to look slightly harder for a suitable frame.
